Dear Friends,
Welcome to the TeamJam (Team Jon and Sam!) Traval blog. As we explore Hong Kong and Australia we will endeavour to publish a short post each day so you can follow our adventure.
For the time being we will not share with you the stress and turmoil that is our preparation but rather look forward to more enjoyable times and share our itinerary.
We leave the UK on Saturday evening (14/01) and arrive in Hong Kong some 12 hours later on Sunday afternoon.
We spend 2 nights in "The Pearl of the Orient" before jumping back on the plane for another short hop (9 hours) to Sydney where we arrive in time for breakfast on Wednesday 18th.
We have five days and four nights exploring the "Harbour City" before we pick up our van/camper/RV/winnebago and hit the road...
The Platinum Beach (Sam wouldn't let me having anything with "budget" in the title!) will be the "King of the Road" for 20 days as we wind our way up the east coast to Cairns, arriving on 9 February.
Why not have a go at the quick poll on the right to guess how many hotel stops Sam will demand enroute?!
We leave Australia on 10 Feb and spend another two nights in Hong Kong (to cover everything we didn't have time to see the first time), arriving back on UK soil on the evening of Sunday 12th (hopefully quickly through customs, baggage etc so my Dad still has time for a pint at The George and Dragon!).
How excited are we! The biggest challenge will be not seeing Charlie and Jack for a whole month but we know they are in good hands as Hannah and Sam are moving in to look after them.
